Draft Profile: Morgan Moses

Fox Sports profiles Virginia OL Morgan Moses, who might be available in the second round.

Brian Bassett, TheJetsBlog.com

Moses is another in the long line of offensive lineman from Virginia, including the Jets own D’Brickashaw Ferguson.  Moses is the epitome of the “dancing bear” in draft parlance … meaning he is nimble of foot for a player of his massive size and strength.

Like Ferguson, Moses isn’t known as a plus run-blocker as he leaves school, but in time he could round out that part of his game as be better learns to generate a push in the running game.

I would be very surprised if we picked an OL early. We just signed a couple of hold the fort guys in Breno and Colon and we picked a couple of developmental guys last year. Maybe we'll be looking for an early OL pick next year if the development guys don't work out and the vets fall by the wayside. But I don't see it this year.

Morgan Moses would be a solid pic in the 2nd round . I like this guy. great balance. a year in strength and conditioning at the pro level and he'll be excellent. wow

@jvsvn  I basically agree we might go O-line fairly early,but I would caution you to not hold your breath waiting on the two clowns we drafted last year;Oboushi and Campbell because my guess is they will never amount to much.I hope I'm wrong, but as they were apparently so unprepared that neither one of them were active for even one game, and considering the way PFF rated the players on our O-line after last season. If you combine those facts with how poorly regarded they were going into last years draft, It just seems the talent is not there? Obviously i don't know for sure, just a feeling I get looking at the available data.

@bob

Zack Martin is a Nick Mangold and if the jets added him on the offence line they would have the Sheldon Richardson effect. Zack Martin will be a pro bowler .  I know we have bigger needs at wide receiver and corner back.   guard/tackle hard to pass up on this guy if he's there..You get Zack Martin the Jets will now have an aggressive offensive line.

@juunit  That sounds like a Jabba the Hutt quote, especially if you append the Jabba laugh.

Is there an NFL rewind equivalency for college football? If not, that needs to change.

Yet at the same time having said that I also really  like Cooks in the 1st and and Austin Seferian Jenkins in the 2nd..sure would be good if we traded back into the second round again and took a Guard also or a CB.

@marc55 Not sure.  I think there's an ESPN player but it isn't comprehensive and I'm not sure how long games remain archived for.

Similarly many conferences have their own player (again, not always comprehensive and not sure about archiving).

LOL We could trade down and pic up Xavier Su 'A Filo and pic up a additional 2nd rounder and then trade pics to end up with 3 2nd round pics and draft a CB,WO.TE.

@bob  Bob running amok > Hank or Joey running amok

@Bent @marc55Money could be made from it, so I'm hopeful it will happen at some point.  It would also help deal with the ridiculous lull (/withdrawal) we are experiencing at the moment.
