Eric Decker and Chris Johnson to scrimmage, Calvin Pryor will not

Rex Ryan said that Eric Decker and Chris Johnson will both participate in the green and white scrimmage on Saturday. Decker is dealing with a slight hamstring injury, too, Ryan said.

Calvin Pryor, still working back from his concussion, will not play, Ryan said.

Kenrick Ellis is also dealing with a knee issue. His availability on Saturday is up in the air.

Pryor-concussion-last week

Naturally he won't scrimmage.

So I haven't missed too much from the rookie class the past week that I've been out of touch. It sounds like Winters is falling out of favor. Is Aboushis' rise more about hiim or Winters'?

I have always felt that training camp really begins after the G-W scrimmage. When the hitting starts is when the wheat and the chaff get sifted!

Always scary when you hear about knee issues for a nose tackle. It's a good thing we have two good ones.

@UncleJoesJetFarm Because Geno has been working hard to earn the job and they don't want him to slack off because he thinks he's locked it down.  Is it that hard to figure out?

@a57se Nah, Rex praised both Winters and Aboushi yesterday.  They've been splitting reps 50:50.

@a57se Except when Tebow was in camp and the Green-White scrimmage was more like a practice.

@Disgruntled Jets Fan Consistency on offense would be nice. They dont need to score a lot but keep the chains moving and dont look lost and confused.

@juunit @Disgruntled Jets Fan I might refine that to any rookie to make a play.  Doesn't seem like many rookies are making plays at camp.

@Bent @Disgruntled Jets Fan I think it's important that the offense move the ball and real important for Geno to get a TD or a few nice passes in.  The Jets D is likely the best D Geno will face all season, so anything positive would be a good confidence booster.

Where did Bent say that? Of course Vick is a hardened vet so doesn't need the reps like Geno does.

@Bent @juunit @Disgruntled Jets Fan There have been plenty of negative plays: passes dropped, INTs, missed blocks, bad routes, etc.

Reilly has probably been the best rookie so far and, fwiw, Saunders has looked great in the return game.

@a57se @Bent @Disgruntled Jets Fan It was pretty bad.  He missed three weeks in preseason and it continued to bother him after he returned.  Rex never actually said it wasn't serious like he did with this.

FWIW, I've heard from a source that it is definitely not serious, they're just taking a precaution because it was the same knee he had hurt in the past.

So who's left?

Dixon is probably 10th string right now

George is on the 3rd unit

Dozier's on the 2nd unit

Saunders started well but hasn't done much lately

Reilly is about the same

IK+ doesn't seem to be doing much

Boyd's been struggling

I have hope for Pryor, Amaro, McDougle and Dozier. The rest I'm really unimoressed with.

He might still be right. We just need a few of the picks to become players, not all of them, that was always unrealistic. I still disagree with Idzik using all 12 picks, but, we'll see.

All this said, I didn't really expect the rookies to make a big impression early on anyway. That's rare, Sheldon territory.
