Reminds me more of Bavaro than Gronk.  Gronk turned brittle lately too maybe he's not going to last a season the rest of his career (and may it be a short one in NE).

I think he was the best WR available at 49. Bonus is that he can learn to block.

It's very interesting to me that the same talking heads that say he's really just a big WR, with their next breath say we should have taken a WR in that spot.

I have to admit Amaro wasn't one of my favorite TE prospects before the draft. But after really watching him more I coulldn't be more excited. He's so smooth for a guy 265 pounds. Really excited about what he could do in the middle of the field for us.

I'm starting to feel really good about this draft guys .. We got our passing game back . we got our T.Es back .. we have a great running game and the o-line isn't great but its a good o-line with decent depth.. and the defense is more solid in the backfield  and on the.. (edge of being great...)

Need ED Reed back and 6 games in The D will be awesome.

I'm really starting to get excited Decker and Hill and Nelson, Kerly and those two receivers we got in the 4th round...Very happy . WE are gonna knock the cover off of the ball..

Wow did we get better as a Team...

Todd McShay from ESPN has listed the Jets as the most improved team. For what its worth I like to hear that.

Surprised Miller didn't bash all the picks so he looks better when he eventually snubs them from his NFL 1000 project.

You can do worse than being compared to Gronk but hopefully Amaro takes being called baby Gronk or Gronk- lite as an insult .

These days if you had a conversation about blocking tight ends in the NFL it would probably last about 30 seconds on the subject. Most likely you'll be moving on to the next topic.

We have not had a TE that could drag people for extra yards in a long time - not since Shuler . Keller usually went down when he was hit. I love this guy.

@bob  Bob, we drafted a safety that most guys here feel we don't need, a TE who cant block, a CB who supposedly played mostly "off "coverage and zone in college (vs the press man coverage jet corners are known for) a undersized WR most services had as a 6th rd.pick in the 4th rd, another 6th round guy in the 4th(Evans) a potentially interesting project later that same round. In the next 3 rounds we pick pick another project at CB, two of the slowest guys in the whole draft (who also happen to be undersized at 5-11and finally a 26 year old OLB who is not strong enough to hold the edge vs. the run? Bro, believe me, i wanted to be positive but in almost every round we picked guys too early and bypassed better prospects. This is worse than the draft last year that brought us such stallworth's as Brian Winteres, Oday Oboushi,Will Campbell and lets not forget PFF's lowest rated fullback, Tommy Bohanon! We need to set the bar higher because all this draft brought us is two likely contributors 2 big question marks and 8 more mediocre players to join the already mediocre roster.

@johnnyl65

They already have Baby Gronk in Sudfeld. Amaro will have to develop his own persona -- a good thing.

Amaro easily could have gone in the 1st round. He is NFL ready.  I'm looking at a play maker 1st game of the season he should be coming out of the gate the fastest of all the draft pics

@bob  Bob! I didn't get to touch base with you during the weekend, but how do you feel about the draft?

They got the BULLDOZIER, the heir to Willie Colon's throne, so you have to be feeling pretty good about that, right?

It was definitely  drafting for needs.. B+ needs  B value... best way to explain it. I love the pics Really like the Dooz best value pic in time may be he best guard in the draft.

1) Safety

2) TE

3) CB

4) WR, WR, Guard.

5} ILB.

Looks like need met value..
