Their Previous Meeting: The last time these two teams met, the Jets’ 2012 season would culminate with this clusterf*ck passed off as a professional football game. The Jets took an early lead in the first quarter on a 22-yard Nick Folk field goal however, it was quickly erased as Chris Johnson ran 94 yards for a touchdown midway through the second. The Jets responded with Mark Sanchez finding Jeff Cumberland on a 10-yard pass to take the narrow lead in the third quarter. The Titans responded driving down the field in three minutes as Jake Locker took the ball 13 yards for the score and the lead. As fate would have it, this would be the dagger for New York as neither team was able to score again. Sanchez threw four interceptions and at one point sat on the bench for a drive in favor of Tim Tebow who didn’t fare much better. Despite their bumbling, the Jets had a chance to win the game with the ball on Tennessee’s 25 yard line and 47 seconds left in regulation. Fittingly, Sanchez fumbled the snap and Bilal Powell inadvertently kicked the ball which was recovered by the Titans sealing the Jets’ 10-14 loss and mathematically eliminating them from .
