Their Previous Meeting: The last time these two teams met, was in the rain-soaked Gillette Stadium where both teams looked sloppy. Tom Brady struggled mightily completing just 29% of his passes to receivers not named Julian Edelman but it would be Geno Smith’s mistakes that would prove costly for the team along with some bad luck. The Patriots struck first with Brady connecting with Aaron Dobson on a 39 yard pass followed by a Stephen Gostkowski field goal shortly thereafter. The Jets put their first points on the board with Nick Folk nailing a 37 yarder. The Patriots would only score once more on another Gostkowski field goal in the second quarter. The Jets made things interesting in the third with Bilal Powell running the ball in for a 3 yard touchdown to narrow the Patriots’ lead to three however, their offense struggled to get in scoring range again as they fell at Gillette.
