Jets hire Bobby April, Jr

The Daily News has learned that Jets will hire Bobby April, Jr., to be a quality controls coach. April spent the past two seasons as a defensive quality controls coach for Eagles. He helped out with defensive backs for part of last season as well.

April’s father has been a long-time special teams coach in the league. He was hired as the Raiders special teams coach last week after having the same position with the Eagles for three seasons.

The Jets lost nine coaches since the end of the season through firings, defections or retirements.
