The Jets are interested in WR Sidney Rice (Rapoport, March 17).
The Saints and Seahawks are also interested in Rice.
Rice played in just eight games in 2013, with 15 receptions for 231 yards and three touchdowns.
Brian Bassett, TheJetsBlog.comOf the Seahawks and Saints, the Jets are the worst off when it comes to needing receivers. So while the team signed Eric Decker to be their top option leading up to the NFL Draft, they still need more potential upside players. James Jones was a name loosely tied with the Jets, but nothing seems to be bubbling there for New York which is a shame because we think Jones would be the right kind of production addition to add to the group.
While Rice has some name recognition, he’d better not be expected to be more than a flier due to his return from an ACL tear in 2013. Beyond his ACL tear, Rice seems to be injured more often than not and has only had one good season back with Brett Favre in 2009.
