Eric Weeks, theJetsBlog.comBy tendering Cumberland the Jets have the right to match other contract offers but they will not receive compensation if Jeff decides to leave. Even so, I don’t think many teams will be beating down his door given the crop of tight end talent this year’s draft is producing however, this is a solid re-signing by New York. While his blocking abilities are suspect, Cumberland will be a familiar face and a solid receiving threat at the tight end position that is likely to lose Dustin Keller and hopefully he can expand his role and become a larger focal point on offense.
