Jets working out running backs, intend to sign one

Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports reports the Jets are working out running backs and intend to sign one  today.  Steve Slaton and Khalil Bell are among them. Slaton played for offensive coordinator Tony Sparano in Miami.

Maybe a dumb question but what if both Eli and Nassib got injured?  I see we are only going with 2 QBs and there is no QB on the practice squad.  Who would then play QB?

Giants not keeping Quarles a stupid mistake. I was saying before the deadline cuts that if he wasn't retained, he would be claimed by some team, and sure enough, the Pats come sweeping in and scoop him up.

Yeah I think they could've snuck Wynn through to the Practice Squad but not Quarles

@Brian Webster ....  I was a little beside myself that they kept players like Dallas Reynolds or Nat Behre over Quarles. With the state of the DL to apply any kind of aggressive, consistent pressure against opposing QB's, you would have thought that keeping Quarles would have been a "no-brainer" decision. And I agree with you that Wynn probably could have been snuck thru rather than Quarles, though that's not an automatic.  Just very stupid. You would think with the successes they have had with undrafted free agents that they would have done more to retain Quarles.
