Josh Cribbs worked out for the Jets today, according to Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports.
La Canfora reports that Cribbs is “back to full health.”
Cribbs was released by the Browns in March. He signed with the Raiders in May, but was released in late August.
He is tied for the NFL record — with Leon Washington — for kickoff return touchdowns with eight.
Brian Bassett, TheJetsBlog.comThe Jets could use a little more spark on special teams, and Cribbs might be able to provide that as a returner as well as in coverage. Cribbs can be effective in specific roles on offense, but that’s generally not where most of his value comes from, still the Jets have an interest and he could help the Jets during a tough time due to injuries on offense.
