Landry’s Next Stop Is San Fran

Free agent SS LaRon Landry has a Thursday visit scheduled with the 49ers if the Colts let him get out of town

Per Rotoworld: The Colts are trying to close the deal — Landry is currently at their facility — but it’s a reminder that he has alternative suitors. We’re still not sure about the fit in San Francisco. The 49ers would presumably release Donte Whitner.

It seems as though the Jets aren’t going to re-sign Landry. It really sucks because he was one actual bright spot in a dismal season. He was asking for about $6-$7 per but, I assume he will settle between $3-$5 per. The Jets current safeties are Bush, Allen, Jarret, and Lockett. No one here really stands out.  Bush will see a much larger role in this upcoming season. I think Allen plays more of a Landry type game. He has a big frame and the Jets can put him in the box like an extra LB. Maybe they can turn Jarret’s career around? I hope they re-sign Bell to give this young group some kind of experience.
