Laurent Robinson leaves Jets camp without a contract

According to ESPN NFL Contributor Adam Caplan, the Jets did not make an offer to WR Laurent Robinson on Monday after his workout in Florham Park.

Robinson was released by the Jacksonville Jaguars just one year into his 5-year contract. Robinson’s time in Jacksonville was plagued by injuries, as he suffered multiple concussions.

The 28-year-old will work out for the New England Patriots on Tuesday and the Detroit Lions on Wednesday.

Robinson seems to be a player that many fans are hoping would come to the Jets and based on some of his past successes he would be a high upside addition to the roster.  The Jets have a history of letting players leave and then signing them to a contract not long after, it has already happened a few times this year.  Like the Jets, Patriots are similarly troubled with their receiver depth, but playing in New England might be a little more tempting for Robinson regardless of the money.

We’ll see how this plays out …
