Fullback Lex Hilliared went down after team drills and needed to be carted off the field on Tuesday.
Hilliard had been dealing with a rib injury, but reports say trainers were looking at his right arm or shoulder.
Update – 10:05 a.m.: Hilliard will have season-ending surgery to repair a broken shoulder blade, according to Pro Football Talk.
10:15: Other Jets reporters are confirming that Hilliard will miss the rest of the season due to the surgery. He was also already playing with a broken rib.
Brian Bassett, TheJetsBlog.comHilliard was one of the league’s worst fullbacks in 2012, so it is hard to imagine he would have made the team with Idzik’s personal project Tommy Bohanon on the roster. We will see what the Jets do with him now at this point, whether they IR him or give him some sort of injury settlement.
