Multiple sources online are reporting that former Jets GM Mike Tannenbaum will become a agent representing coaches and personnel men for Priority Sports.
Today, Tannenbaum will embark on a new opportunity in the world of sports business, as a member of full-service agency, Priority Sports & Entertainment. Tannenbaum has been named President of the agency’s brand new Coaches, Front Office & Broadcasters Division, and will oversee all contract negotiation and representation of basketball and football coaches for both professional and college sports from his office in New York.
An agent? That seems oddly fitting.
Welp, it’s not another gig in the NFL as a GM, capologist, or DPP in the NFL and taking this role will likely remove any possible consideration that he would get back into that field in the near term — at the very least. It is also a role that would play to his strengths as a lawyer, and having worked with the media, I’m sure he’ll know how to push the right buttons. It also probably doesn’t breach any terms of whatever settlement he and the Jets came to.
