News and Notes: Revis Cleared to Practice and More…

Jake Steinberg, theJetsBlog.com

What’s going on Jets fans? It’s been a while since I’ve posted on TJB. I started a new chapter in my life…so I’ve been settling in. However, I’m adjusted now, and I’ve returned to TJB, here to stay…

Enough about me…let’s get to the real news… Rejoice Jets fans! According to Rex Ryan, trainers have cleared All-Pro CB Darrelle Revis to practice with contact today. Barring a major setback, Darelle will play on Sunday vs. the Miami Dolphins.

Also, Ellis Lankster is sitting out of practice today due to a lower back injury, but I’m told he should be good to go on Sunday.

Lastly, don’t be surprised to see Joe McKnight get some burn on defense as a CB. McKnight continues to get reps there in practice. To me, this speaks volumes to Rex’s confidence in Isaiah Trufant. Trufant, throughout his Jets career, has proved he cannot play CB in the NFL. He is just physically overmatched. Never was that more evident than last Sunday, when Rex, who LOVES corners, only played 3…Cromartie, Wilson and Lankster. Rex has apparently lost all confidence in Trufant.

But that’s all irrelevant. The big news here: Steiny is back! (and Revis too).
