Eric Weeks, TheJetsBlog.comTheJetsBlog.com’s Jake Steinberg reported a short while ago that the Jets have waived wide receiver Jordan White. His report was confirmed by Newsday’s Kimberley Martin who also noted White will undergo surgery on Tuesday for a sports hernia.
This is the culmination of a series of unfortunate turns for White during his time in New York. He had a lot of potential and a great opportunity to carve his niche this season with roster spots up for grabs. But, the injury bug, which has followed him from Western Michigan, has prevented him from participating in practices and ultimately you’re not going to impress anyone if you’re constantly on a bike. Combined with the fact that others have stepped up including the likes of Ryan Spadola and Vidal Hazelton, this was a pretty clear decision for the Jets.
We want to wish Jordan the best of luck and hopefully, he’ll be able to get (and stay) healthy and catch on somewhere in the future.
White’s departure leaves the Jets with 89 men on the active roster.
