Quote: One pick at a time

“I wouldn’t say it is safe to say anything at this point. We’re going to take the draft one pick at a time and take the best player available.”

– Jets GM John Idzik on whether or not the Jets will draft a wide receiver in the first round (via Metro)

Can we at least consider to add Miles Austin or Asante Samuel before draft? I don't think they're better than possible 1/2rd picks but it could loose the pressure to get the best WR/CB. Does it sound good for anyone?

OBJ IS OVERRATED!!

Ugh, it's still not draft day...

I bet they value guys like Cooks and OBJ highly ... unless someone crazy like Clowney falls i think Cooks will be the pick. Book it.

I'm not sure why anyone would even repeat this quote, it's garden variety GM meaningless nonsense.

no one says who they're gonna draft, telling would screw up your draft, some other team might change their strategy to draft someone you might want, it happens every year when a team suspects another team wants a player and will move up to get him.

The Rangers game is killing me...why is everything always so difficult for this team?  And the Nets seem to have completely collapsed for some reason.  Gah!

Every GM in the world would give the same answer.. lol

But what people always forget, everyone has a different board. Richardson wasn't ranked the same on other boards (probably )etc etc..

comes down to staff and style of play, it's hard to simulate which team prefers which player. (Duh)

With that being said, I feel we are looking for a 1 of 1 at 18, not a guy that that can be replicated in the upcoming rounds. WHO is that guy?  We all have our preferences.

Does that mean it's safe to say it isn't safe to say anything?

I thought they don't go BPA because that would be stupid an no team goes BPA.

That would mean we would be picking 36th and 37th player. No thanks.

Unless the Jets are the only team that gets to pick 2 at a time.

@Disgruntled Jets Fan Rangers always find a way to lose in spite of having some of the best talent, it's been like that for years, just be glad they won the cup in 94

@Hanknaples  Man, I really hope the Patriots get Keller and try to use him against us instead of a TE that's actually good.

If you're missing an arm should you go to the doctor's office and ask for an artificial leg?

Jets should address WR....not rocket science

Best player available is subjective. It is make believe because every team has a different draft board. Obviously one man's garbage is another man's treasure

Every GM says they are going to take the best player available and every GM has a different definition of what that means....

It is pretty easy to convince yourself that a WR is the best player available when your team has the 31st ranked passing offense 2 years straight and your starting QB's since 2009 have over 100 combined turnovers......either that or you just draft another D-Lineman in round 1 who will sit on the bench behind Big Mo and Boss Hogg

@__fense @Hanknapleseveryone who goes to the Pats plays a lot better with Brady throwing the ball, Keller has talent but was an under achiever with the Jets

@bradysucks  its a deep class odds are we would be able to draft a starting wide out in the 2nd also

@bradysucks

But what if you're missing an arm, a leg and an eye?

But you're not taking into consideration other ares of deficiency and the changes that have already taken place this off season.

@levi @Hanknaples @__fense  Healed up isn't the same as good as new. If he's half a step slower, which he would probably be for most of the year post surgery, he goes from being slightly above average to JAG, Brady or no. He never cared much for blocking, so he won't be in on every down anyway.

@Hanknaples @__fense  I agree Hank, with a good QB Keller will be hard to cover if he's healed up. If Allen is on Gronk who is on Keller, Wilson?
