Quote: Secret weapon

“There is one guy on this team we know [Revis] struggles to cover and that’s Nick Mangold.  You can ask Nick that.  [Nick has] actually caught a pass in a walk-through before we played San Diego in a playoff game.  He caught a pass and he had flip-flops on and he said ‘what this? Who cares, it’s nothing.’  We all kind of laughed about it, but that just never happens.  So when you ask New England, say ‘hey we know [the Jets] got the guy [to take on Revis].'”

– Rex Ryan talking about one of the few players to ever catch a pass against Darrelle Revis in walk-throughs

why is Rex bringing this up? he has been more quiet of late and that's how it should stay, just coach and keep quiet, now reporters are gonna ask Revis about what Rex said, Revis is a sworn enemy now

This is stupid.  Mangold will never line up at WR and he's not eligible to catch a pass.  And he's never going to wear flip flops in a game because of the risk of injury.  Can you imagine the heat Rex would take if Mangold got his unprotected foot broken on a stupid trick play?  I can't stand this guy and his idiot approach to the offense.  He doesn't seem to have a clue.

@jaym Let's hope they get lost on the turnpike and stay down there forever.

@a57se @jaym Isn't Manish from Philadelphia?  He does seem to root for their teams.  He might be there as a fan.

@jake100 @Ron Alexander More proof that Cimini knows nothing about football.  Vets, like Colon and Breno, need a lot less time to develop "chemistry" than rookies or younger players.  Breno will no doubt appreciate and perform better once a seasoned vet plays next to him, whether that occurs during training camp or before the first game.

@bob @Bent Man, I wish I could find the Jets' "monster in the box" gag on the rookies from the 80s...I think it was Tony Paige who jumped 10 feet. Anyone remember it?

If I recall, the men behind Mel Gibson in Braveheart were CHEERING........didn't see much cheering behind Geno.

@Brendan Problem is, that I have a feeling that a57se was a cranky young man, too.

Relax, we kid because we love....

@a57se That's a mere observation, I don't think anyone on this blog would argue you aren't a cranky old man.

How is this a negative? Honestly, I would like your thoughts on why Rex joking about the time his 300 pound viking lookalike center caught a pass on an ex player in flip flops is even noteworthy.

@a57se You love being a cranky old man, don't you?

NO FUN EVER.

Rex jokes, he will never stop making jokes, so you're wishing for the earth to start spinning the opposite direction on its axis, basically.

@a57se I said he'll be out 4 weeks, they're saying 4-6. I'd be shocked if it's 6.

I stopped paying attention to Hank years ago, it's just so utterly pointless and my time is worth more than that.

I generally glance at what he writes every now & then and maybe once a year, I figure "Ah, give it another shot" and I reply to something he wrote (usually one of the less ridiculous comments).

Then he comments back and I invariably end up deciding another year's respite is in order.

And so it goes...

The Cimidiot can't be right....brendan said he'd only be sidelined 3 to 4 weeks.....

Not really Hank...you can be training and everything is fine then POP! something gives......

I basically hope he just vacates and goes to a Dolphins blog at this point.

You're assuming a Dolphins blog would actually take Hank and Sons, LLC.  He probably goes to Dolphins blogs talking about how awful all of Miami's players are and how great Rex Ryan and the Jets are.

@Hanknaples @a57se

a57se is right, he didn't know about the the injury until this week, so your baseless accusation is incorrect and that should be the end of the matter.

"My understanding is that RG Willie Colon (knee scope) is out 4-6 wks. Suffered cartilage damage working out earlier this week." - Rich Cimini on twitter

@SackDance99 Not really. It was sad and probably the worst thing Hank's thrown up, which is saying something. I basically hope he just vacates and goes to a Dolphins blog at this point.

Bent

@Hanknaples He'll "definitely" be ready by training camp per a team source, so that didn't work even if it was his plan.

@Hanknaples I am legitimately done with you after your rant last night, Hank. Go bother someone else for a change.
