Antonio Cromartie’s knee injury is not expected to hamper his ability to play against the Pittsburgh Steelers tomorrow afternoon, a team source has relayed to Adam Schefter.
New York Jets cornerback Antonio Cromartie is expected to play Sunday against the Pittsburgh Steelers despite being listed as questionable with a knee injury, a team source told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter.
Cromartie did not practice Friday and officially is considered a game-time decision, according to Jets coach Rex Ryan.
Cromartie has not missed a game due to injury in his three-plus seasons with the Jets. The two-time Pro Bowler told some teammates on Friday morning that he expects to play against the winless Steelers, a source told ESPN.com.
Eric Weeks, TheJetsBlog.comCromartie’s availability for tomorrow’s game would be huge for a secondary that is battling through injuries and cannot afford to take another hit. In that same breath, you don’t want to push Cromartie too hard and make the injury worse than it already is. The Jets’ trainers have been pretty diligent about keeping their players healthy and on the field so hopefully if Cromartie is a go, they’ll monitor his minutes closely.
