Revis Suffers ‘Mild’ Concussion in Bills Game

According to Rex Ryan Jets cornerback Darrelle Revis suffered a slight concussion when he was accidentally kicked by Bart Scott.

“I understand it is a mild concussion” Rex told reporters this morning in Florham Park, “he seems to be feeling good, we will see how he progresses during the week.” Revis didn’t talk to reporters after the game due to the NFL’s rules about players who’ve suffered head injuries not being available for questions.

Whether Revis is a key component for the Jets and their defense, Rex Ryan is always one who is going to hold players back for health reasons.  “We’ll err on the side of caution,” Rex said about whether or not Revis will be available this week for the Steelers game.

If Revis is unavailable, that’s a big blow to the Jets chances against a tough team like the Steelers.  Even ‘mild’ concussions are serious business, and for the Jets to justify that Revis will see time on the field Week Two it is going to be a tough sell.  I can’t blame the Jets for holding Revis back if they do this week, but at the same time, there’s about three guys on this team that would be crucial to have against a team like the Steelers and Revis is one of those guys.

Stay tuned, we’ll update throughout the week you when we know more.
