Rex Ryan hopes to coach Jets for ‘another 20 years’

New York Jets head coach Rex Ryan has dealt with great adversity on the field with his team the past year but told WLNY-TV he would like to coach the Jets another 20 years.

“Obviously the results weren’t what we wanted last year, there’s no question about that,” Ryan said. “But I’m excited about this team going forward. One things for certain: whoever is on the field is going to have to earn their way on their through competition and I think that’s gonna ultimately really help out team. I believe when we take the field opening day, our guys will be popping out of their skin ready to play.”

In my opinion the chances of him just being the Head Coach for next season are very slim. I think the Jets have to go 8-8 in order for Rex to keep his job. Being the HC of a NY football team, the expectations are very high every season. I don’t think he can afford to have another losing season and keep his job.
