The Jets have signed Nick Taylor to a reserve/futures contract according to TheJetsBlog’s Jake Steinberg on twitter.
Taylor is 5-10 and 190 pounds. He was in camp with the Vikings last year but tore his shoulder and missed the whole season. Taylor is a former FIU basketball player, so is likely a raw athlete. He is listed as a defensive back. Here’s a story on him from when he tried out with the Vikings a year ago.
Bent, TheJetsBlog.comWe’re re-posting this because a previous version of this post correctly stated that NFL.com lists Taylor at 165 pounds, but we’ve been made aware that this information is outdated and he’s now much bigger than that. The move is yet to be listed on the official NFL transaction list, but that’s also the case with the Ras-I Dowling signing that was confirmed by the Jets a week ago, so I expect the Jets just haven’t filed the paperwork with the league yet or something.
You can follow Taylor on twitter here so be sure to give him a warm welcome.
