Santonio Holmes is ecpected to miss “a few weeks,” according to Brian Costello of the New York Post.
Holmes suffered a hamstring injury in Sunday’s loss to the Titans. The team will also miss Stephen Hill, who suffered a concussion in the same game.
The Jets will sign WR David Nelson, according to multiple reports.
Nelson has 94 receptions for 1,042 yards and eight touchdowns in his career.
Brian Bassett, TheJetsBlog.comThe Jets worked out Nelson last week, and while teams aren’t beating down Nelson’s door, he is another large (6’5″ 217 lbs) target that might help the Jets passing game in a possession role and in the red zone. Nelson’s speed might be less than what it was now after his ACL tear, but a large target who can body-up cornerbacks and high point the ball with decent route-running could be a benefit to an ailing Jets receiving group for a few weeks.
