When Kenrick Ellis took a plea deal earlier this year over a malicious wounding charge from almost two years ago, there were questions as to whether or not the league would choose to suspend Ellis as part of the disciplinary policy. Of course, the incident occurred well before he was drafted and an NFL player, so as the plea deal was handed down the question about Ellis’s NFL fate lingered.

According to Manish Mehta Twitter account, Ellis probably won’t get suspended.

It is good news for the Jets, but I think the chances of Ellis’ suspension were fairly slight.  As Pouha eases back into the game, it’s good to know that Ellis will be able to fill in as-needed.
