Buzz: OL Chad Clifton Heading to Take Physical In New England

Former Packer Chad Clifton might be trying to recover from a failed team physical last spring after offseason back surgery, but for a team in need, a veteran like Clifton could be a viable free agent and potential flier at the offensive line spot – especially for a team looking for a potential last-minute starter.

While their right tackle spot struggles, the Jets have not brought in a player of  Clifton’s or Kareem McKenzie’s caliber this offseason, but it looks like another team in the AFC East who are similarly struggling to find starting tackles are taking a look at Clifton according to Gregg Rosenthal on NFL.com.

Clifton is now headed to New England to get examined by team doctors this week, so if the Jets front office has a card up their sleeve in the form of Vernon Carey or Kareem McKenzie or something … this might the time to play it …
