The Jets have announced the addition of cornerback LeQuan Lewis, a 2011 UDFA who has spent time with the Titans and Raiders.

Lewis totaled 26 tackles and 1 interception at Arizona State but he’s best known for his kickoff return average of 25.0. Lewis played at receiver and cornerback however, not much detail is revealed about his skill-set at either position. His primary contribution will come on special teams and while he likely won’t unseat Joe McKnight, for the moment, his speed, a 4.38 40 at his Pro Day, is intriguing enough to warrant a look especially with the shaky special teams play in the first preseason game.  He may be in a serious competition for best name on the team with Demario Davis.
