Jets Reach Out to Demps
Chalk it up to Mike Tannenbaum doing his due diligence. After winning a silver medal in the 4×100 relay in London, the Jets have reached out to sprinter Jeff Demps. Demps is reportedly looking to rekindle his relationship with the game of football after pursuing track full-time only a year ago.

Demps, a former Tebow teammate, was a running back and a sprinter at Florida who rushed for 2,470 yards and 23 touchdowns. Obviously his speed has attracted multiple suitors and while he is not an every-down back, he does know how to find the running lanes. In a sense he is similar to Tebow in that he can add another dimension to the offense especially when given space whether he is lined up at running back, receiver, as return man or a gunner. Given the number of teams interested, this is a crapshoot at best but no harm in kicking the tires–after all Rex Ryan wanted his team to get faster.
