Sione Pouha told NewYorkJets.com in Cortland today that there’s no cause for concern about his ability to be ready for the team’s season opener against Buffalo and that he and his trainers are

… his message to Jets fans was that his back is on the way back and he has no doubt, “not at all,” he’ll be ready to rock and roll for Buffalo in the Sept. 9 season opener.

“They took all the measures, X-rays, all that type of stuff. It’s just a tight back,” Po‘uha said with his broad smile crinkling that other physical issue from this camp, the gash over his left eyebrow. “I think the most important thing was that everybody wanted to be on the same plan to make sure we took the right steps to get us back for that opener.

Good news, but the concern of course is once he’s ready, what happens if he gets injured during the season?  The Jets are being wise to hold him back since he knows the defense so well … there’s no reason to put him in harm’s way unecessarily.
