Browns offer WR Andrew Hawkins four year deal

According to Nate Ulrich of the Akron Beacon-Journal, the Browns have made a four year offer to Andrew Hawkins of the Bengals who was low-tendered by Cincinnati, meaning it comes down to a bidding war with no draft picks trading hands.

Brian Bassett, TheJetsBlog.com

Hawkins was a name rumored to be of interest to the Jets in free agency, but so far most of the interest generated by Hawkins has come from within the AFC North.

The interest from other teams may have forced any teams that were only marginally interested to back away.

I love what Idzik is not doing.  That is overspending.

With all our Cap space we can get 7 quality FA's for the price that some of these teams will be paying for 3 guys.  Don't waste all your bullets.  We will be in good shape on Thursday of this week and going forward.

Plus maybe we want Ware or (winces) Revis

@williamg1 @greggreen  i mean as a fan i need something to hang my hat on and a promising young secondary would go a long way. especially since we are likely to lose our RT and again be restructuring our line
