Towards the end of the season, Colon implied that he expected to be back when he said that Rex Ryan was one of the main reasons he came to the Jets and that it would be “a step back for us as a team” if Ryan was not retained.
Bent, TheJetsBlog.comColon performed well last year and Pro Football Focus graded him as the 5th best guard in pass protection in the NFL. He also provided the team with much-needed leadership.
On twitter the other day, Kimberley Martin from Newsday predicted that Colon would be back and the Calvin Pace move yesterday suggests that the Jets are now starting to address those players from last year’s team that they would like to return.
A little detective work from myself and Bassett reached the conclusion that Colon’s bicep tear (suffered two and a half months ago) could be the more serious kind; a distal tear which carries an estimated recovery time of four months.
