With some news about the Jets receiver position being front and center today, now word that the Jets haven’t ruled out re-signing veteran receiver Braylon Edwards and have also invited Laurent Robinson to New York for a workout today.
Brian Bassett, TheJetsBlog.comEdwards has history with the Jets and with Mark Sanchez. When Stephen Hill was injured at the end of last season, the team seized the opportunity of his waiving by the Seahawks to add him to the squad. Questions lingered as to whether the Jets would re-sign Edwards, and it has taken the team a while to even express much interest.
Laurent Robinson was a name batted around as a player the team was interested in during the free agency period. Robinson has battled concussions and was released by the Jaguars after signing a five year deal just a year ago.
The Jets receiving corps needs a boost and Edwards or Robinson would both be good candidates to help whoever becomes the Jets starting quarterback this year.
