They did not specify terms of the sale after the owners vote. Would it be possible that some one like Hansen's group in Seattle or a group in say San Diego purchase the team and move them to a new location?

Corona is the last sponsor to drop Clippers, who are left with zero total sponsors only a lingering and indecisive State Farm.

Which is why a forced-sale probably isn't even necessary. Its in his financial interests to sell.

Any chance of banning Dolan for life?

Interesting aside...NBA bans Sterling for life and urges its board to force his sale of team!

Dtaft time is CRAZY...

I've seen the same people who preach "deepest draft ever " and bpa, then hypothetically trade up using multiple picks..

I've seen people say we have too many picks, seen guys trade back for picks... seen guys trade back just to trade up (Jugling picks like a magician )

I've seen 4th round prospects jump to first round prospects literally over night... saw Bridgewatwer go from 1st overall to 1st in the 2nd...

THE NFL!

have a feeling ASJ won't make it to 49, maybe our 49th and a 4th to move up a bit to get him would work but waiting until 49 would make me nervous, especially after that 40 time

Marvel

@WW85 has successfully made ASJ a first round pick in literally 7 hours.. lol respect

With That being said.... come on..weren't you pumping up Latimore at 18 yesterday?

Buccannan at 18 tomorrow?

@williamg1  As a musician I'd ban him for his awful music alone. What a travesty. I'd then calmly take his guitar, beat him senseless with it and then write a song about it.

@Marvel  aaaaaaand unless something crazy happens, Geno will start week 1 of the season as well.

Think about this, why risk letting Vick get away next year by signing him to a one year deal if he's your guy. Why not protect yourself with some option years?

Now Vick can very well win the job and have a really nice year. Then what? Some other azz clown team comes in and over pays him to be their starter?

I dunno, Idzik strikes me as a long term guy. If he were setting up a one and done year for Vick I would imagine he would have brought in DJax and maybe sold out for Mevis.

@Marvel Only 9 more days!!! The draft really should have happened already. It prevents guys from slipping because "their knees are too skinny". Jets need to move up, not in the first round, but to the second round to get a stellar CB/WR/TE combo.

Hazard2012

@metsjetsdu

Are we suddenly all that enamored with ASJ just because of his 40 time?  I like the guy, too, but if he's all that good then why not take him with our first pick?

But before you trade a 4th rounder to go get him sooner (and maybe that's not good enough), think of it another way...that 4th rounder is not a number...it's a player...a Tom Savage, Charles Sims, Dakota Dozier, Maravtais Bryant, Keith McGill or Antone Exum...

...still want to give up that pick?

@metsjetsdu

40 time vs game tape....

40 time is silly.. especially an alleged one.

Trading any of the top 6 tapes is a no no.

@Marvel Buccannon could go in the first. The Cowboys and the Eagles have interest in him.

@Marvel  I'll be happy with ASJ/COOKs/Latimer/OBJ. The risk is lower with the big guys, though

@Marvel  ASJ was always talked about as a "potential 1st rounder," though. It was injury that was concerning, no?

I was surprised.   Wasn't sure Silver was going to make as clear a statement as he did.   Sterling also fined $2.5M...the max under NBA rules.

@Bytor

 honestly if Geno isn't the guy, we are drafting a qb early next year.

doesnt matter if Vick starts week 1 , 8 or not at all, he  is insurance. Simple.

metsjetsdu

@Hazard2012 @metsjetsdu  to be honest , none of those guys you named get me nearly as excited as ASJ ( although I get thats why he is a second rounder and they are 4ths ) I have feeling the depth of this draft is being slightly overrated. Yes it is deep and I wouldn't just trade the picks for anyone but with the amount of picks we have, I almost think it would be foolish not to move up and grab some higher quality talent.

Marvel
Marvel

@WW85

 Risk is Risk... it's not lower or higher with any of the guys you named.

 I just feel wr is the way to go..

But we'll see I guess.

Brendan

@a57se Nope. That would be his mistress, the half-black, half-Mexican woman who Sterling was telling not to hang out with black people.

The wife is suing the mistress for like $1.6 million (gifts that Sterling gave the mistress) and that's why the mistress can't really talk to the NBA right now, but apparently they didn't have to ask her too many detailed questions to get to the bottom of it.

But it wasn't Sterling's wife that leaked it, it was the mistress.

@Brendan @a57se  I would assume that he's mad at her for hanging around with black people.

Maybe so, but it's a lot of money, regardless, and the biggest fine I can recall against any owner/player in any sport in this country.

@Hazard2012 @WW85  $2.5m to Sterling is equivalent to $100.80 for an average American per Darren Rovell.

@a57se @Bent  We'll see how Geno fares this year, but I'm a lot more bullish on him than you. With Dalton, you kind of know what you have already. With those weapons, sheesh, put ME in Marvin. I'll take you to the promised land in my 40s.

@a57se @Bent  Take a good look at Vick's passing efficiency before he went to Philly and then after under the coaching of MM.  That was no accident and there's no saying he can't do the exact same thing with Geno who has a much more accurate arm.

@a57se @Bytor @Marvel  The Bengals are a healthy Tony Romo from being elite. You're right that team is pretty stacked. They could use a coach too.

@a57se @Marvel @Bytor  Just like any other team that drafted a QB to be their starter and his name is not Luck. Cincy is still trying to figure out if Dalton is their guy. I'd hate to be their GM.

@Marvel @Bytor  Bingo! We all seem to concede that Vick will get hurt at some point. Doesn't seem like the guy to hitch your wagon to. Perfect guy to come in if Geno gets hurt and run the WCO or if Geno poops the bed.

@a57se @Hazard2012

I think the value of later picks gets lost in the shuffle.   Don't get me wrong, I've targeted ASJ from the start, but he is really all that much better and better for us than Amaro or Niklas?

As you know, I pose the same questions about the WR's and CB's, etc. in this draft.   There's very little separation in lots of positions, so it matters less that you land player A over player B.

Marvel

@a57se

Game tape >>40 time

DATs game tape tells me he's the fastest guy in the draft, his 40 doesn't..

@Marvel I love Cooks. The ultimate ankle breaker. He may be the the next Steve Smith. I'll be very happy with the pick. But ASJ could be the next Gronk. Latimer could be the next Keenan Allen.  These guys could all suck too. Just as risk/reward, give me the big physical dude who can slap Revis around. But like I said, I'll be very happy with Cooks.

boomer

@Hazard2012 @joemustgo @WW85 @Marvel  A better indication is background and tendencies of the Offensive Coordinator, Marty Mornhinweg.  He is a disciple of the West Coast Offense but with his own spin which puts an emphasis on a multi-purpose back (CJMaybeAK) and a horizontal first passing game that puts an emphasis on precise route running, timing and accuracy to open up the deep game.

Slants, quick outs and screens have always been a part of his game and I don't see that changing.  I see him starting to build the roster to fit his game.

Marvel
Marvel

@WW85

 Yet Cooks has never been injured..

Look, at this point it's preference. I prefer cooks, he's a game changer /breaker. Best cuts in the draft and imo will succeed no matter where he goes.

@joemustgo @WW85 @Marvel

Give Rex the right talent on O and he just might change his ways...but Ryan Air needs a gunslinger behind center.

joemustgo
joemustgo

@WW85 @Marvel  We're never going to be Ryan Air anyway, so take the biggest backside over the bigger upside.

WW85
WW85

@Marvel  Taking a big body who can handle a physical DB with vs a smaller WR who cant block but who has a lot of other upside. They both have massive upside, but the physical player is safer. I still think Cooks can be spectacular, but I'd probably take a big boy in rd 1 if there is a good one there.

boomer

@a57se @Bent  Well thats exactly the point.  Can you think of any WCO that didn't feature TE play?  Look at teams that run it and you will invariably find a good pass catching tight end.

Question: Who made a grab that was so important it has been immortalized in NFL lore as "The Catch"?

Answer: Dwight Clark, TE SF Forty Niners, arguably the birth place of the West Coast Offense.

@Bent @a57se@boomer@Marvel

And Eifert had to share reps with not only a Pro Bowl TE but a stacked WR corps. While Ertz came on real strong at the end of the season, looking like he figured it out after the bye.

@a57se @boomer @Marvel  Both did better statistically in their rookie year than Cumberland did in his best ever season.

@a57se @Marvel His production dropped because Sarkisian went to a spread offense and used ASJ more as a blocker than he had previously.

In 2012 his numbers dwarfed the numbers of the 2012 Mackay award winner, Tyler Eifert, and Eifert went in the 1st to the Bengals.

I'm willing to bet our GM from rainy Seattle is well aware of what ASJ is capable of doing.
