I know where I'll be at noon ... in a dentist's chair. Who knew when I made the appointment? Maybe Jurgen can write me a note.

Suarez out for the rest of the WC.

Goodson a no show at Court today.

His attorney said he is having financial issues!

I just cant see Salas with a realistic chance at making the team. Mostly everyone thinks Saunders and Evans are locks and i would even think Enunwa as a 6 th rounder is ahead of him.

EDIT: I don't even think he makes tsjc's keep all 8 scenario

@Brendan

The way Colombia is playing at the moment, it might not have mattered.

@a57se

I imagine he's feeling pretty screwed over by life at the moment. One dumb move and he lost his career, his bank account, and most likely his freedom.  And what do you want to bet that his good buddy from that night is denying ownership of the gun.  That doesn't make it Goodson's weapon, but makes his case a lot more difficult, especially if he handled it at any point.  Sounds like the Goodson is just shutting down, probably holed up at his mother's house with a bottle of cheap gin.

Goodson is 27, which will work against him.  Compared to the situation of Kenrick Ellis, who was young and stupid when he assaulted a college student, Goodson won't get any leniency.  He's going to do some hard time, locked up with violent offenders who will want to ride him through the cell block like a chestnut mare.  Wouldn't surprise me if he offs himself before it gets to that point.  It's too bad, but you can't really feel sorry for him.  It's not like he was stricken with cancer; his decisions alone got him into this mess.

@jetlife He hasn't gone anywhere, he's still that same guy in the locker room. He just realized not to be that guy publicly all the time because the media will tear him apart for it because they're scum.

@BDarc23

I have Salas and Gates as either 9th and 10th or 10th and 9th in my #keepalleight plan.

So, no.

@tsjc68 I'm willing to bet having a top-3 player in the world would've mattered. The guy is a juggernaut on the pitch in spite of his insanity. He can single-handedly win games, one of only a few guys that have that ability.

@Ceifus Hornswoggle @a57se I don't know the stats but I'll bet substance abuse kills more people than cancer.  Just consicer the stats on death from DUI's alone.  Anyone in that vicious spiral really can't be held accountable for his decisions like someone sober.  Its night and day.

@williamg1 @a57se

I'm genuinely concerned for him at this point.  This is becoming a legit Adam Muema situation.

Substance abuse is a disease.

@a57se @jetlife I loved that Rex -- especially as he led them to the AFC championship. But, that doesn't work if you go 6-10 or something like that.

@Brendan @tsjc68 What hurt us was the way #5 tried to block the shot that scored for Germany.  Everytime they show the replay, he never went at the ball and got in front.  He moved right and turned his back.  The Rangers could have done a better job blocking the shot.

@Brendan @tsjc68 Sloppy field is always a leveller in soccer.  Especially suits you when a draw in either game puts you through.

@Brendan @tsjc68 Germany is faster, while US relies more on strength. So based on field conditions alone I believe this helps the US.  i.e. Jets-Dolphins AFCCG

The guy was drunk at the time of his arrest and had a small amount of Marijuana on him.

Doesn't sound like some massive drug addiction to me.

Brendan

@jetlife I just want to see some locker room speeches or something. Rex is a master motivator and I get fired up watching those things.

@BDarc23

Hakim, despite his world-class speed, is probably 12th (behind Michael Campbell).

Dude is fast, but unlike the other really fast dudes on the team, he can't catch.  Like, at all.

Bent

@BDarc23 From what I hear, although Salim can't catch, he's been turning heads on special teams, so there might be a chance they carve out a Wallace Wright slot for him.

@a57se The clown car is a media-driven narrative. So you don't miss the media over-blowing everything Rex said or did? Because they still do that.

It seems like there are actually too many guys to even get reps during camp.

@Brendan @a57se

There is a lot less material available for them from Rexy these days, I am happy for that.

I love Rex as a Coach, I don't love big mouth Rex that loves the spotlight.

Bent

@a57se @Bent @BDarc23 He's not returning, he's playing as a gunner, that's why I mentioned Wallace Wright.

@BDarc23

Meh, 12 WRs is a pretty common camp number, it's not excessive.

Brendan

@a57se That guy still exists, though. He's just savvier about how he goes about doing it and knows what not to say to give the media what they want.

He's also much better at shutting down stupid lines of questioning.

I highly doubt the guy has changed much behind closed doors, where the above speech was given.

a57se
a57se

@Brendan @a57se

I don't want him to change either. I'm fine with him acting like a little kid behind closed doors...just act like an adult in public.

Brendan
Brendan

@a57se The above video is not "acting like a little kid."

Brendan
Brendan

@a57se Huh? There is no strawman argument from me. You said you will pass on the above Rex and then went on to say "I'm fine with him acting like a little kid behind closed doors...just act like an adult in public." Pretty straightforward.

a57se
a57se

@Brendan @a57se

Oh so tying together disparate comments to conclude that I thought the video was Rex acting like a child isn't a strawman??

OK, Wicker man.

Brendan
Brendan

@a57se Those were not disparate comments, 57, do you know what that word means?

a57se
a57se

@Brendan @a57se

You are not too bright.

My comment about the video where I said I'd pass is because I don't want to see behind the doors Rex, I was not saying he shouldn't be like that anymore.

He does act childlike in a lot of the behind the door footage we see of him and he used to carry a lot of that hokie crap to the press room (the whole wig thing with his brother) plus all the bravado nonsense...

I'm fine with him being him behind closed doors. he can be as classless as he likes, I just want him to do like he has been doing lately in public, act like a mature person.

Brendan
Brendan

@a57se Whatever, you're just looking for something to whine about.

That is not childlike behavior, you can continue acting like it is if it makes you happy.

Insulting someone's intelligence mere minutes after misusing a word that you don't know the meaning of is hilarious, though. Stop pushing this narrative that you're smarter than everyone, please. No one buys it.
