If the Cowboys release Orton, do we put Geno on the bench and pick him up?

Who will lead the Jets in INTs this year and how many?  I'll go with Wilson and 5.

On the subject of Walter Football and their hilarious Jets-hating predictions, I stumbled across this yesterday:

http://walterfootball.com/season2006_AFCE.php

Buckle up, because these are some gems:

I think Mangini will be a good coach in the future (haha)

...but he'll be a miracle worker if he gets New York to the postseason this year.  (They went 10-6, the 7th best record in the NFL)

 Justin Miller is turning into a shut-down cornerback (hahahaha)

Inside linebacker Jonathan Vilma, one of the best in the business, plays alongside veteran Eric Barton and the improving Victor Hobson. Outside linebacker Bryan Thomas needs to be replaced, however  (Vilma had a terrible season, Hobson got worse, Thomas had a career year)

...they picked up Kimo von Oelhoffen, a prolific 3-4 defensive end. Von Oelhoffen, along with end Shaun Ellis and nose tackle Dewayne Robertson, will form a decent line that will improve the team's 15th ranking against the run. (KVO was not good and the Jets dropped to 24th against the run)

I believe Mangini will go with either Pennington or Ramsey. If that's his direction, I couldn't disagree more. (Pennington started 16 games and led the Jets to the postseason)

Meanwhile, Clemens is clearly the franchise's quarterback of the future. Mangini should start Bollinger unless Clemens is ready to play.  (Hahahahahaha)

No, we should not take this guy seriously.

@a57se

Congrats on creating another long BS thread.  IF you didn't occasionally show your Jets heart I would consider you a troll at times.

He gave our RB's and WR's a 1.  We were a #6 Rushing attack last year w/o Chris Johnson.  Now we are one of the bottom 6 teams in the league?

We add Decker and we are a bottom 6 recieving core.

We had an historically bad season in the secondary (by recent Jets standards only).  Yet we finished #22 (at least a 2 star rating) get Patterson who played much better than Cro and draft Pryor, McDougle, get Ras I Dowling and the other young guys have another year under their belts.  Yet we get a 1 and are again considered a bottom 6 team.

I am still waiting for the balance you see in their statements...

Brendan
Brendan

@BDarc23  It's a bold strategy Cotton, let's see if it pays off for 'em.

(I go with ED REED with 6)

BDarc23
BDarc23

@Brendan @BDarc23 Interesting...I wonder if we would have heard some rumors by now if Reed was coming.

harold
harold

@a57se

That is why I said balance.  You said the truth lies in between, I did not say you sided with Walter Football.

Brendan
Brendan

@a57se The insinuation that the optimistic Jets fan's take is as ridiculous as Walter's is, in itself, ridiculous.

Especially considering your list that you use to back up the above statement is completely fabricated by you.

Brendan
Brendan

@BDarc23 I'm sure we would have, I'm just going to keep holding out hope that he's signed.

My serious answer is Patterson with 5.

harold
harold

@a57se

So to give any credence by saying the truth lies in between is just trolling, imo.

Because anything will fall inside of the crazy silliness they posted, it means nothing.

Also based on your post about the Happy Meal Crew fans expectations, which adds nothing to the debate, it is again an extreme which does not reflect anyone opinions on this blog as I have understood.

If your post were true everyone would be predicting would be 14-2 and a Superbowl.

No one is doing that and to contrive an argument based on nothing is aagin trolling, imo.

Brendan
Brendan

@a57se Please think about what you just said. Your primary example is Kirk Michael, someone the people you call "HMC" disagree with constantly

There are always extremes, acting like the extreme is the norm of a person with an optimistic tinge to their posts is outrageous. It'd be like me responding to bdarc as if he's posting Hank's thoughts.

harold
harold

@a57se

Wow...

Tell what in my logic is faulty?

Brendan
Brendan

@a57se If you're taking Hank or Joeyboy's side, then yes you will be associated with them.

What you just said isn't a response to my comment, at all. I don't do what you do, which is take one random thing stated by one person and act like everyone in a thread or group of people said it.

harold
harold

@a57se

Semantics?  What eludes you?

Brendan
Brendan

@a57se Yeah, harold, he's just saying your logic is the Barry Sanders of logic. It's like the greased pig of logic. How can you not understand that?

Brendan
Brendan

@a57se

"you misrepresent peoples' comments all the time"

False.

" Taking them to black and white extremes."

Proof?

"Lumping them in with other people unless they come around to your way of doing things"

Again, this is your MO, stop projecting.

"you are a bully"

No, I'm not. I'm stubborn and confident and I don't relinquish my position until it's proven to be wrong. But when I am proven wrong, I don't disappear or act like I'm right anyway. I don't jump all over people who clearly aren't spending the hours I am following the Jets/NFL for simply being misinformed. No, in fact these are the types of things you are notorious for.

harold
harold

@a57se

Thanks for the critique.  Your argument was totally ridiculous.  I tried to get a real response but you insist on doing your usual turtle shell.

No problem, until next time

@Dr. Jonathan Reefer Nexium is good, but it's something you have to take daily or at least in the morning before you start your day. If you have a bout with heartburn, it won't counteract it like munching down some Tums would do.

But if you remember to take it, it's a huge help with this sort of issue (I have had similar experiences with spicy food as you have, which is equally upsetting since I love spicy food).

@Brendan @Dr. Jonathan Reefer

Nexium and Prilosec (Omeprezole) are made by the same company. Nexium is basically for the esophagus.

I've been taking Omeprezole for years every morning.  It helps prevent heartburn.  A good home remedy for instant relief is take a pinch of raw oatmeal, (no it's not like a steak with all the trimmings), chew it  until it becomes gummy and your heartburn will disappear in moments.

Brendan
Brendan

@a57se Then answer his question and stop being a child.

@Lloyd Jay Reife @Brendan @Dr. Jonathan Reefer

Famotidine is the other, besides Omeprezole. Figure out which one works better for you and just buy the generic at CVS. I supposedly have acid reflux, so I've been taking either/or for a few years. Although secretly I think my throat is just inflamed when I go to the doctor from smoking and I don't actually have any acid reflux.

I never stuck with the probiotics, but I didn't feel like they did much in the short span that I forced myself to eat the stupid yogurt every day.

Brendan
Brendan

@a57se That's one of the definitions of internet troll, fyi. You just stated your'e fine with being an internet troll on a Jets fan blog.

juunit

@a57se @juunit

It definitely is. Coughing from weed is normal. Coughing from cigarette smoke probably means you're going to die soon.

Brendan
Brendan

@a57se "Nice try Brendan but I don't try and sow discord or upset people"

You just said you don't care that you are a dck to people.

" I usually don't post anything off-topic and I usually try and create as much good discussion as I can."

Yeah, all those hockey posts and posts about the Yankees are right on topic! For the record, most people don't care about off-topic posts in the offseason, it was just your insane hypocrisy about calling out and making fun of any/all soccer posts that started the whole "off topic" discussion point.

"I have routinely generated content like mock drafts, roster projections, trivia questions etc. to improve the content of this blog or provide something to do when there are dull times."

Oh, you mean the mock drafts you post while disparaging the posts of others like tsjc? More hypocritical behavior? Those sometimes provide good discussion, they're also ignored a fair amount as well, probably because people know if they disagree with the post you'll just belittle them or something.

"I just don't lay down to your bullying like other people do."

Not sure what to even make of this comment. Again, I don't bully other people. Providing some statistics to give context to a discussion or show someone that they're overblowing something minor is not bullying. You are, once again, playing the victim. It's embarrassing.

Brendan
Brendan

@Dr. Jonathan Reefer Reef, I really don't like when you act like 57 and I are different sides to the same coin if I'm being completely honest. I'm a prolific poster with an optimistic slant, but I'm not out here telling everyone they're wrong, being a prck, etc.

I at least tell you why I think you're wrong, or why I think I'm right.

juunit
juunit

@Dr. Jonathan Reefer @juunit @a57se

I don't even. They don't seem to sell dutches anywhere in LA. Phillies suck and White Owls are for dust. So I pretty much just skip the blunts now.

juunit

@Brendan @juunit

I've got a Pax. I hate it. My $15 bowl works better than my $250 + tax vape.

Brendan
Brendan

@a57se Yes, an incredibly witty comment you've already used more than once. It still doesn't make sense.

Brendan
Brendan

@juunit The Pax wasn't built to last. Nice idea, but just not quite perfected (I have one, too). Get a stationary one and you're set. Also, the vape pen is the tits. Still figuring out the legality of ordering that stuff online, though, since it's not legal here.

Brendan
Brendan

@Dr. Jonathan Reefer

Certainly, when I have a factual basis for saying something I will relentlessly support it until I see statistical/factual evidence that trumps what I've put together. And I'm such a high volume poster that I have a lot of opinions about a lot of things. I don't deny that rubs people the wrong way, but I'm not out here ripping people outside of Hank (who is insane) and 57 (self-admitted resident dck).

Brendan
Brendan

@Dr. Jonathan Reefer They're huge in NY. I used to work at a convenience store in my town and we'd clear at least 2 boxes of them on a Friday night.

Phillies and White Owls are literally cardboard, I never understood people who could use those.

Brendan
Brendan

@Dr. Jonathan Reefer I used to face blunts all the time. At my worst, I used to roll spliffs with a blunt. Just think about that for a second. I might as well have been sucking on an exhaust pipe.

juunit
juunit

@Brendan @juunit

The one I've got has a 10 year warranty. I just don't think it works all that well. My whole reason for buying it was it's supposed to be more efficient, but you've gotta really pack the thing otherwise it doesn't really work at all. Totally defeats the purpose.

Yeah, I should've got a Laughing Buddha or something.

Brendan
Brendan

@a57se I have. It doesn't make sense so why don't you explain how you mean it instead of making this into a guessing game.

PREDICTION: You say you're not here to explain things to me and will continue using the nonsensical comment in the future.

Brendan
Brendan

@juunit Yup, this is my experience as well. There was about a 6 month time period where the thing hit like a champ, but then it crapped out and is a mess now.

Brendan
Brendan

@Dr. Jonathan Reefer Exactly! That's my point. We've argued things to death, raised them from the grave and argued them to death again. But we can always leave those discussions with a high five (heh heh...high) and circle back to being TJB buddies again. 57 has no intention of having a community like that, while the vast majority of us do.

Brendan
Brendan

@Dr. Jonathan Reefer HAHA omg I forgot that those existed. I used them for a bit in college because they have a strong taste, but holy crap they would shatter like glass when you tried to roll.

The best are the blunt raps endorsed by rappers.

"Sheek Louch has a blunt rap? Well, I have to try this for no other reason than the fact that SHEEK LOUCH HAS A BLUNT RAP."

juunit
juunit

@Brendan @juunit

I don't think it's ever hit like a champ honestly. And it works best with dry bud, as in, old stale bud. It's just stupid.

The only real advantage now is lack of smell. But since my building is full of kids my age, mostly who go to the art institute down the street, nobody cares if there's a little weed smell in the hallway. In fact, they probably prefer it.

Brendan
Brendan

@a57se Oh, you mean it's an insult? Never would have guessed.

Add it to the list.

juunit
juunit

@Dr. Jonathan Reefer @juunit @Brendan

Yeah, I'd just refuse. The only thing I was ever willing to live with was when people insisted on a strawberry dutch, or a grape if there was just no other option. Otherwise, I'd buy them the damn vanilla or just put it all in one.

I have a friend, let's call him Bob. Bob is 32 and I am 25. I play basketball with bob. Bob frequently acts much like an ostrich, puts his head down, and takes Ill advised shots with no knowledge or care to become aware of his surroundings. I yell at him for not seeing the 3 people wide open, while he is being defended by 3 people and still tries to shoot, and yet he has yelled at me for being a "bully." He even physically assaulted me once (albeit foolishly for his physical well being) for trying to "tell him what to do," despite multiple people telling him the same thing because of the facts and his continued refusal to look up.

Bob also posts inflammatory articles by non-experts claiming as fact that vaccines cause autism. I attack him for doing so by citing fact and reputable sources that show no such connection exists. And yet, his response is an attack on me that I do not "write nice things on his posts, ever" and a few other random unrelated issues.

You are Bob (figuratively speaking). Anyone's post that disagrees with you, even when based in fact, is somehow a personal attack on you. Any inflammatory statement you make just HAS to be true, even if you haven't verified it for veracity. Now don't get me wrong. I understand, that as an elder statesman on this blog (compared to probably a majority of the blog, and no, I haven't verified this statement) you have endured a long term misery in being a Jets fan. My dad is the same, but is more positive than you are. You're entitled to be negative, I have no problem with that. But by the same token, everyone else doesn't need to share your misery.

Man up. Back up your arguments with facts, and even if you don't, stop attacking others for doing so.

For everyone else: Jets front 7 = "Bad Company." I made it up so I vote we run with the Nickname lol.

Brendan
Brendan

@a57se I did not blow reefer off at all, please re-read that exchange and if you think it's me "blowing him off" point out where.

The fact that you are speaking as though those comments don't apply to you is just...staggering.
