Prediction

Of the rookie WR's projected to go to the Jets...

Lee has the most productive rookie year in the NFL- followed by Cooks - followed by OBJ

I like all 3 - would be happy if Jets take ANY of them

I think OBJ contributes immediately on special teams but not as a WR.

cooks looks similar to percy harvin. i really wanted harvin in '09

IF Blake Bortles falls to 18, do the Jets consider him?

I like reading different reasons for why we should draft these guys more than the knocking guys to prop up the guy they like.

These three WR's are attractive for different reasons and I'm wondering if MM favors the stronger route runner for his offense over size,  or if he favors pure speed over anything else.

I would agree on this if Lee would of went to the 2013 draft he would of been a top 5 pick but his injuries set him back a little with that being said if he's 100% healthy I wouldn't mind if he's our 18th pick.

Players moving up and down team's draft boards for the most part doesn't happen.

All these mock drafts are completely different and are often based on incomplete information and who knows what else. It has become an industry and they just want to create buzz. Jaws originally said he wouldn't take Manziel before the 4th round. Then after his pro day he has him rated as #1 QB.

What a joke.

Don't beleive the hype.

OBJ I understand, that's your boy. BUT what could you possibly like about Lee to take him over Cooks? other than height...seriously..

Routes?  speed?  injury history?

I'd prefer a corner. I'm not convinced that Dmitri Patterson is

1. All that good and

2. Going to play 16 games this year

This is a deep draft for WRs. Teams are going to grab starters in the second and third.

Eagles signed DE Alejandro Villanueva.

Villanueva goes a massive 6'9/277 and played some wideout at Army, but that's not the story here. He's spent the last four years as an active member of the military, serving three tours of duty in Afghanistan. "As soon as I graduated, especially with all my classmates at West Point who were all going to serve, my mind and my heart were going to Afghanistan," Villanueva said after a regional combine earlier this year. He'll be a feel-good story but extreme long-shot to crack the final roster.

Wow, that is a big dude....Good Luck to him!

by the way Kyle Fuller is shooting up draft boards even Mike Mayock have him as the #1 corner in this draft in his CB top 5.

SI's Peter King keeps hearing the Eagles want in on the "prime receiver action" during the draft.

King says the man the Eagles want to help replace DeSean Jackson could be LSU's Odell Beckham. However, they'll almost certainly have to move up from No. 22 overall to acquire the clear-cut No. 3 wideout prospect behind Sammy Watkins and Mike Evans. GM Howie Roseman has reportedly been talking to at least two teams in the middle of the first round, where Beckham is expected to go. King suggests USC's Marquise Lee as a possible consolation prize at 22.

How the heck is a guy who only had two good college Football games in his career against the lowest of competition and wasn't even the best WR on his team the the clear-cut No. 3 wideout prospect behind Sammy Watkins and Mike Evans?

@WW85 They would do their due diligence, but I would hope that they pass for bigger needs.

@WW85  the best thing about bortles is his girlfriend.

Brendan

@WW85  Ugh, god I hope not.

The only consideration I hope the team does involving Bortles at 18 is considering which trade package to move their pick for to let someone else take him.

Yep! Hit the nail on the head. It's all BS..until it's not

Lee is a better WR than Cooks. That is a pretty good reason.

a57se
a57se

@Marvel

He was the best WR in college in 2012. 2013 he was banged up, had three HC's and a crappy QB.........I am concerned about the injuries but if the medical staff says he is good, I gotta figure he is worth the pick.

As far as WR, I want the Jets to get an elite player vs a starter. Odds are at 18 CB will be no where close to being BPA.

@Jeff E. Guy  Patterson was the starting corner opposite of Grimes last year for the Dolphins after they spent all of that money and he picked off 6 passes in 7 games. I would say he is all that good, but the starting 16 games I agree with because he has a very bad injury history

@jaygo

Thanks.

That was one of the saddest moments of my childhood.

Brendan
Brendan

@a57se  Now can we go find reports of teams that like Cooks better and mock you after quoting them?

WW85
WW85

@a57se  Or it's a smoke screen like most of these rumors are. You know that.

Brendan
Brendan

@a57se So now you buy into those things after weeks and months of dismissing them?

WW85
WW85

@a57se Cooks never had a good QB & he never had a good WR on the other side to draw coverage the way Lee had. He still put up eye popping #s despite the double teams. Cooks has a much better drop rate, much faster. Cooks is never injured. Lee is taller. That's about it.

@Brendan @a57se

Find an opinion that supports your position and act like its a fact despite varying opinons throughout the internet.

Also, don't forget to pat youself on the back !!!

@WW85 @a57se

Smokescreen that Philly is talking about moving up or that Beckham is the clear-cut no.3 WR in the draft?

Most big Boards out there have Beckham ranked as the 3rd WR.....

@a57se I watch a ton of USC football every year. One of my good friends went there. Everything I see from USC I take with a major grain of salt because their draft classes are so amazing, especially in those years. When you play with top talent, it's easy to be good, especially when you play mostly inferior talent. I always thought Lee was good, just think Cooks is substantially better. I thought Joe Mcknight was good too & that's when I stopped loving USC players.  Robert Woods btw has identical size, speed to Lee.

a57se
a57se

@WW85 @a57se

I am not trying to make a case for Lee, i was just curious if you took the time to watch his tape......

WW85
WW85

@a57se LOL. The case for Lee is year old tape when he had Robert Woods on the other side & Matt Barkley throwing him passes. When those 2 pieces disappeared....so did Lee.

a57se
a57se

@WW85 @a57se

Did you watch Lee's tape from 2012...he was very, very impressive.....

@a57se I'm glad you're always able to defend Lee with tape & stats from 2012

@a57se Lol. Stop it. You literally mock people openly, which is why people "snipe" your comments. Don't play the victim, it doesn't suit you.

a57se
a57se

@WW85 @a57se

I'm sorry, I didn't mean you have gone around sniping.......others on this Blog have.

One thing about the draft is that people will disagree on the prospects, there is no reason to be silly about it and that seems to happen here a lot.

WW85
WW85

@a57se When did I snipe at you? I've defended my position. I've never gotten personal & have always backed my position with facts.

a57se
a57se

@WW85

So do these guys go around sniping at each other when they disagree on where each WR should be ranked?

WW85
WW85

I agree most big boards have OBJ>Cooks. Even though the stats & tape don't back it up. The height factor has influenced it big time. But most analysts Mayock, Brandt have them neck & neck. Every NFL WR I've seen interviewed on NFLN says Cooks is better by a hair.  Curtis Conway has said this several times. But yeah, there is a fear when a WR is short that he will end up purely as a slot guy. Don't tel Djax or Steve Smith that.

Hoz

@a57se @WW85  i t6hink if they move up its for cooks a younger version of Jackson.

@a57se Proof? Or is NFP now "most big boards."
