Jeez Ryan Shazier would be devastating shooting behind our line, but I know WR & OL may be ranked higher on the need list, but when talking BPA he is one who fits that title.

How typical of the national media to make such an assinine statement about the Jets on their "big ratings" broadcast special so as to annoy the Jets fans.

Nobody in creation thinks the Jets will take Sua' Filo at 18, but hey it's just a tv special and it doesn't count, so lets just say it anyway.

Way to be a tool Faulk.

According to TFY Draft Insider's Tony Pauline, "a number of teams" believe there's a "real chance" Stanford ILB Shayne Skov will go undrafted.

Skov had a big college name, but lacks NFL-caliber athleticism and has injury red flags. "He’s a good guy but slow with major medical red flags," said one college scouting director. "The whole (pre-draft) process has hurt him." Skov didn't work out at the Combine. He ran a 5.09 forty at Stanford's Pro Day.

I wouldn't draft the guy...at best he is a two down ILB....

If we all show up at Radio City Music Hall right now and start flipping cars over..  any chance they start the draft tonight?

If they decide to go CB in the 1st, I think they'll take Roby over any of the other CBs.

I also don't get the impression they're that high on Ebron.

OBJ is overrated. If Cooks is there @ 18, he is my guy. If not, draft best CB/S available and WR in the second (Matthews, Robinson).

I get that its a need. But shouldnt we take advantage of how deep this draft is by getting a wr in the second round. at this point there are 6 WR being talked about in the first round meaning there might be a change for the robinsons and landrys of the world to make it to us in the 2nd round. From what im reading there are alot of guys that are falling because there is so much receiving talent this year

Given that Flowers struggled particularly in press coverage(I assume Sutton is running a system similar to Rex) I don't think he would be a good fit.

Does anybody know approximately what time of night the Jets will make their pic.

I think the Jets draft Lee with the 18th pick...

OBJ is probably off the board. Lee is a good fit in the west coast offense.

They already have a slot guy in Kerley which makes me think they pass on Cooks (and I like Cooks - but he is best suited for the slot)

What show are you talking about?

Hmmm...sounds like a great idea...tell us how it works out when you get out of jail!

@dapoktan  I heard the ODB is a very high character guy as well, but I have not seen any stories about him. Cooks is well known to be a "great kid"

@greggreen

If we go WR, then we need a day one starter who can contribute immediately.  If we really want a WR, then we need to do what it takes to get one of those guys.

@bob  18 was just before 10:30 last year...if that's where they pick!

Each team gets 10 minutes to make their selection. Draft starts at 8. So the Jets could be picking at 11pm.

@bradysucks  seems like cooks size make people think hes a slot guy but from what i read hes an outside guy. i get that hes on the smaller side but there are players who have had success on the outside with his measurables, homles, d jackson. off the top of my head

@bradysucks  Have to say that I'm not hot on Lee.  Plus, always seems that USC guys take a while to transition to the NFL if they ever do - or at least when they are taken by the Jets.  (Of course you could argue that same about Alabama cornerbacks transitioning to the NFL as well.)  I'd rather Cooks if it came down to those two, but honestly, I think cornerback is a bigger first round need.  Dennard may be gone but Fuller would also be a great match.

@WW85 @dapoktan  I was under the impression that OBJ was considered something of a diva.  Is that not the case?

If they trade back I will find out who they picked the next morning.

@Pete 57  That's five a.m. here in Paris.  Think I'll just wake up to the news.  My attendance (attention) won't do anything anyway.

Coaches are going to want to use Cooks in the slot where he can be extremely effective.

I like Cooks a lot.

Cooks is going to have to prove he can be as effective on the outside as he can be in the slot in the NFL. If coaches think he is more dangerous in the slot then that is how he will get used.

What he did in college doesn't necessarily translate to the NFL when he plays on the outside...

I'd be happy if the Jets draft Cooks... I'm a fan of his

bradysucks

I'd be happy with Lee or Cooks. I like OBJ also

Lee would be great if he's healthy....The guy is dynamic

Didn't Keyshawn go to USC? He was pretty good right away.

@Marcus Armstrong @Bent @a57se  Here we go:

Tony Pauline said on a podcast (3/21):

- Odell Beckham Jr. is a diva who doesn't like to practice. He likes to show up on gamedays but he doesn't give attention to detail.

- Jarvis Landry is the exact opposite and teams love him.

Also: Scouts that spoke with the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel compared LSU WR Odell Beckham Jr. to Marvin Harrison and Greg Jennings.

"No holes that I can see," said one scout. "I think he will be great." In addition to having no noticeable weaknesses, Beckham goes 5-foot-11 1/4 and 198 pounds and runs a 4.3 forty. "Little bit of a diva but he is tough," another scout said. "More of an outside guy but he can stretch the field. Very, very, very explosive. Intriguing player." Beckham collected 143 catches for 2,340 yards (16.4) and 12 TDs over the past three years.

True, and even though I want to see the pick live, I would still prefer a trade back as opposed to a trade up.

@bradysucks  Lining Cooks up in the slot to take advantage of a matchup is not the same as saying "Cooks is a slot guy".

Cooks can play both inside and on the boundary.  He can be an X, a Z, or a Slot.

bradysucks

Lee is not a second tier WR. He was the best WR in the nation 2 years ago when he was healthy and had a decent QB.

Again, it depends on his health....

Any of the WR's we're talking about will be a significant upgrade for the Jets

dgdg
dgdg

@bradysucks  OBJ>Cooks>Lee.  I think Lee has the biggest chance of the second tier of receivers to fall to day two at which point I'd gladly trade up to get him.

That said, I like Seferins-Jenkins and Amaro quite a lot and wouldn't be sad if the team waited until the 3rd round to grab a receiver. SJ>Amaro, personally.

@Pete 57  Keyshawn went to USC.  Buttfumble transitioned himself off of the team.
