Dee Milliner wins AFC Defensive Player of the Week

Brian Bassett, TheJetsBlog.com

Milliner came a long way this season it it has to feel good to see his work and perseverance pay off with five passes defensed and two interception in his final game as a rookie.  Congrats to Dee on this well-deserved honor.

Happy New Year, Bent!

Happy New Year, Bassett!

Thanks for all the hard work and great coverage!!

Now if you can just convince SNY to give you a new blog format in the new year...

Milliner ended week 17 as the top DB, and Revis ended it limping around.

Millner may never be what Revis was, but there's a good chance he'll be as good as Revis is now, and in the up coming near future, and a lot cheaper.

Dee also made PFF's team of the last Quarter which is impressive as well.

He is improving a ton but that TD this week was terrible so I would question defensive player of the week... I think he'll be awesome next year though

I never though I'd see this!

Way to go!

I am really looking forward to have he does with a full off season of training.

His face guarding won't work, he needs to keep on developing.

Good point! We just couldn't afford an elite QB salary for a non-QB.  We had Sanchez's salary  too, another non-quarterback.

The load is getting lighter, the future brighter.

I think it's clear that trading Revis was the right move. Milliner probably won't be as good as Revis was, but Revis probably won't be either.

@KnickerBlogger@jetsbuzztap That will change if he continues to improve.
