Former Jet WR/KR Brad Smith launches design competition

Brian Bassett, TheJetsBlog.com

BradSmithWe always like to check in on what current and former Jets players do both on and off the field, especially when they are doing interesting and innovative things.  So when we saw this cool contest that former Jet Brad Smith is working on, we were excited to share this back here at TJB.

Smith just kicked off a competition to award $20,000 to a fashion designer.  The goal? Design him an outfit for some NYC red carpet events at Fashion Week as well as the NFL’s big game in New York.

While I presume Bent and I won’t be working up designs for Mr. Smith ourselves, we figured that with $20K, a trip to New York and a VIP event at stake, some of you might know friends & family that are aspiring designers who might be interested in a great opportunity to showcase their work.

Since we know zero about fashion, we’ll just let Mr. Smith explain:

Submissions are being accepted now through January 24.

Please share this with anyone you think might be interested!

men's fashion is boring anyway.  Let me guess, someone is gonna design a suit.  can't he just buy one?

Nice change of pace Bass. You can win 20K by dressing up? Not bad. Now one can get cheapest suit at Met Life for this SB, but I am still sticking with the 400K suite, it's either the best or nothing for me, lol

I agree, I am a sweats and Jets cap kind of guy, except at weddings and funerals.
