I don't believe for a moment that Rex will loose his job this year  Idzik is not gonna fire Rex how would that look on Izack if he did. not to popular. The responsibility would fall on Woody Johnson.

Jets fans love the Jets winning games and watching the Jets play in the playoffs.

Not much of that going on the last couple of years...

If Rex goes and whoever thinks he should go,should be tested for smoking crack. Rex is the JETS.  The may have been two games where the Offense has played better then the defense. Rex finally has his pieces in place on defense,I would let Harris go even with the good season hes having any mlb could with this front 3 or front 4. Draft another guy like Davis obviously isn't going to have the leadership skills but save the cash for a WR in FA. Stick with Rex, Marty, and GENO! Let him develop. He's a top ten arm, he just needs to work on the mental capacity of it. Call me crazy keep Holmes to. Sign Nicks. Have a core of Holmes, Nicks Kerley! We can do all this while still giving Wilk a huge deal, Pace a 1 year if he thinks hes worth more, good bye its the players around him why hell have ten sacks, and I believe Kerley and Powell have to be signed. Barnes will be back n cut Goodson no need for him. Give cribbs if healthy a KR,PR salary. Dee has looked better the last two games. Bringing these guys in, cutting them , resigning our guys gives us huge flexibility at guard which is the only place we would need to draft if we signed Nicks and Resigned who I said. While also drafting an athletic, fast, great tackler, and someone who can play right away.

To be honest.. If we get the thirteenth pick.. I'm trading down. I know we have 12 picks, but I'm not sure that's enough. 15 picks is a lot better then 12 especially if we trade back a few spots and pick up an extra two mid round picks. Not sure we can sign them all, and find the right trade partners, but if we can, we should trade down. We need all the help we can get and invest our money into mo, sheldon, etc.

Media all had Rex as dead man walking so now they make this an issue to justify their "knowledge."   There is nothing, repeat nothing, coming from the Jets camp to indicate Rex is in trouble.  Changing a head coach now, which also means changing the entire coaching staff and system, is ridiculous and contrary to all of the actions the team has taken in the past year.  Woody took a long time to hire Idzik with a lot of input.  Idzik's draft and signings clearly indicate a two or three year plan to get the franchise back to the playoffs.  If Rex was toast, he would not have survived the purge last year.  Rex has taken a rag tag group to playoff contention in week 15 to most pundit's surprise, and he (no one else) is the personality of this team.  Woody likes a celebrity on his team. When Marty M had the offense going, no one questioned Rex's focus on the defense and the defense is clearly strong despite an offense that can't stay on the field.  This Rex  issue is a non-issue.    I would not be surprised to hear Idzik support Rex publicly before the season is over to shut up the media.  Idzik will draft/sign players to make the offense competitive.  With a competitive offense and the defense tweaked from where it is, it will be up to Rex to get us in the playoffs or to step aside.  That's a next year issue, not this year.

The 2 biggest mistakes of Rex's entire time here were the contracts offered to 1) Mark Sanchez and 2) Santonio Holmes.

I think Woody's at least as much to blame as Rex if not more.  I (kind-of maybe) understood the Sanchez contract but Santonio's was glaringly stupid immediately.  Woody's the one signing off on his end of those debacles.

I want him back

Blah, Blah, Blah. Three years of mediocrity. So let's drop making excuses for team Rex, and his everyday beer drinking buddy mentality.

Rex is fun... Likeable dude... So what!

His teams lack discipline, get blown out, and cheat the fans of anything more then smoke up our ass.

This is the third fall apart in December in three years. How exactly is it NE loses so many players yet still funds ways to win? Where were Brady's weapons?

Rex the great defensive coordinator whose D can't get of the field on third down, and who remained loyal to Reed and Cromartie as they gave up non stop 20+yard plays.

Constant penalties, constant turnovers, constant blow outs. Time for a change.

For Rex the defensive coordinators job is all he deserves, and lets locate a head coach with a system of being excellent always, and of discipline and control.

How better to handle a bunch of 22 year old multi millionaire kids that never for the most part had a pot to piss in..

Discipline, structure, balance, consistency are what matters, and Rex is not the coach to accomplish those thing.

If you can't tell the difference between Tom Brady and the great duo of Sanchez/Geno at QB, you shouldn't be allowed to post on this Blog. Jets fans are SUPPOSED to be smart!

@Neil Herschkowitz Rookie qb without kerley holmes, along with Winslow and Cumby. Best rushing defense, a few weeks ago 4th in history. Rex drafted these d line man and we have something special in the works. Keep Rex, the OC, n Geno. All we need is another good receiver and were good to go. Hakeem Nicks and Keep Holmes with Kerley that's a core. We have a very good tandum of backs and above avg line with a crazy amt of young players and we lost over ten starters, if Rex finishes 7-9 n 8-8 he should keep his job. Don't forget where we were power ranked before the season! Rex is the guy!

Ok.. So, NE has nothing other then Brady to hold accountable for consistency, and the fact that they have huge player turnover and still dominate has nothing whatever to

do with the head coach.

Does Brady play defense as well. If jet fans are supposed to be smart are you the exception?

Interesting, so on your coaching evaluation perspective there's either the extreme of Rex or Mangini, and no possible choices that might fall in between.?

That your attempting to say that the only way to instill discipline and consistency is by having a Mangini.

That in fact, throughout the ranks of professional and college football we either can have Rex or Eric and nobody that would fit into the vast middle ground between them.

Surely you jest Brendan.

I'm sorry, we need a head coach that has a system of structure and discipline. The players coach thing is over rated. Rex is into cronyism rather then a true competition.

Constant penalties, constant turnovers, unable to get off the field on third down, late season crashes, big blow outs.... Enough Rex.

If Rex didn't get Sanchez killed in pre season it might have been nice for Geno to sit and learn.

Rex is a great guy, loyal to a fault, brilliant defensive coordinator... Not a head coach.
