Per Scout.com: Veteran NFL offensive guard Jake Scott visited the New York Jets on Thursday, according to a league source with knowledge of the situation.
He wasn’t immediately signed to a contract, though. Scott is a 6-foot-5, 295-pound former Indianapolis Colts fifth-round draft pick from Idaho. He played last season for the Philadelphia Eagles, starting seven games after joining the team in midseason. Scott has also played for the Tennessee Titans. For his career, Scott, 31, has played in 131 games, starting 128 of them. He’s entering his 10th NFL season.
If Scott does sign with the Jets its most likely a depth move. He was in Mornhinweg’s system in Philly so that seems like a good reason to bring him in. He would also be an inexpensive signing.
