The Defense is gonna keep the Jets in every game. Looks like the offense just may be good enough to get it done...I'm excited this year because the Jets are better time to surprise .In a good way.

My guess is that Enunwa goes to the practice squad, Hill and/or Ford either become the starter or get cut, and Evans stays with the club but doesn't see game action until later in the season. Saunders will see playing time right away on ST, and will get into the game at WR early on--possibly, but not likely, as the starter. Nelson will stay with the club and has a legitimate shot at starting, but is more likely a back-up, with occasional spot starts in case of injury. Gates will either be cut outright or go to the practice squad--same with Saalim Hakim.

I have no idea who should start at the other wide-out position, but I definitely do not think it should be Kerley. He is a very good slot receiver--a reliable producer of 1st downs--and I think he should be kept in that role. Possible options on the outside, opposite Decker: Jacoby Ford (depends on health--and the effect that previous injuries have had on his playing speed); Stephen Hill (depends on health and continued development); David Nelson (reliable, but nothing special); Jalen Saunders, Shaq Evans and Quincy Enunwa are all in the mix --but will any of them be ready by the start of the season? This is one position (the other is CB, opposite Milliner) where someone is going to have to step up and make his case for why he should be the guy. It should be one of the most interesting competitions in training camp. My feeling is that it will probably be either Nelson or one of the little guys--Ford or Saunders. Despite the early optimism about Hill, I really have to take a "prove it" attitude towards him.

Collectively the Jets receivers can put in packages which will make it tricky for opposing defenses to defend. It will be challenged once they figure out what the Jets are doing which is important to get off to a good start. with schemes wile these young guys come up to speed..

Brian Leonard is a local boy from up here and I was reading an article about a football camp he does up here every year and this was the final paragraph:

Leonard is currently an NFL free agent. He said he recently worked out with the New England Patriots and also has interest from the Jets and Baltimore Ravens.

 I wonder how interested the Jets are?

@tsjc68 I got them all, but I'll admit I guessed on if John Adams or James Madison wrote the Federalist Papers.

@Daniel Diffin

I don't think Gates is eligible for the practice squad anymore.  Hakim should be, though.

@levi @tsjc68

Could he be a FB for Marty?

Maybe.

But for various reasons, I'm more intrigued by the potential of Chad Young, Zach Sudfeld, Chris Pantale, Daryl Richardson, DJ Adams, DJ Harper, and about 15 guys currently on other teams' rosters that I anticipate being released between now and Week 1 than I am in seeing what Brian Leonard can do in this offense.

Brian Leonard isn't worthless, I wouldn't complain if we gave him a shot, but he's way down my list of priorities.

@levi He is a good receiver and might even be more of an H-back than FB, so probably. Still not a huge fan, despite his affinity for leaping over people when he has the ball.

Oh.  The order is randomized, I think, so the numbers won't mean anything.

Still, 47 out of 50 is impressive.  CONGRATS, YOU PASSED AND YOUR CITIZENSHIP WILL NOT BE REVOKED.

Good morning Brendan that hurricane swept by out in the ocean I love it when hurricane sweep by the storm take all the humidity with it and leave Fl with a breeze and dry air..

levi

@Brendan   Ive always liked and followed him and Trevor Scott being they are local boys who made the big show but with a crowded back field already I didnt think Jetys would show interest. But then I got thinking about his blocking and catching skills and they could use that.

@Hanknaples  I think from the "eye test" most people would say MMA but I think the most damage to the brain is caused in boxing long term.

Brendan
Brendan

@Hanknaples MMA and UFC are the same thing. UFC is just a specific MMA promotion.

MMA vs. Boxing is a pretty long-standing debate in a lot of respects. I'd say MMA is more brutal only because your entire body (minus your head) can be used as a weapon where in boxing only your hands can be.

I love FL I allways say Fl not paradise but it better than CT.

levi
levi

@Hanknaples As Brendan says above its been a long going debate between boxing and MMA. Keep in mind in MMA you quit by tapping out at any time and will not be punished for it unlike boxing. Im sure you still remember "No mas" and how ridiculed he was and also lightened his purse for quitting.

levi
levi

@Hanknaples There have been no deaths in the UFC. There has been one in MMA that I know of but it was an unsanctioned thing and they didnt have a proper Dr. there.

Brendan
Brendan

@levi It should be a good match, they're both really well rounded fighters and Machida can pull some Jet Li sht at any moment. Weidman is like the god damn juggernaut, though, so I'm going with him.

levi
levi

@Brendan  If Lyoto doesnt clip him for a flash KO I think Weidman crushes him.

@Hanknaples Yes, and many others from that era. I was a really big boxing fan back then. But the corruption turned me away from it. I think its making a bit of a come back now.
