So did anything good come out of todays practice?

Cimini posted an article about Decker skipping the OTA.

Has Joey relayed this story yet?

It's like bringing your ugly friend with you to the bar.  You look better when you stand next to him, but you're still ugly.

Leberfeld devotes whole web pages to something he's written in 140 characters or less.

Can someone enlighten me on getting an avatar attached to my SNY login?

@jake100 Cimini posted a good article about Dimitri Patterson. You should advertise it. I liked this:

""The reality is, that's the only thing they can find negative to say about me...When you look at my career, I've been in [the league] nine years -- the last two years I had an ankle and I had a groin. My first six, seven years, I had no injuries."

@jake100 I love how McManus is implying that it's Vick and Rex's fault for being asked different questions.

__fense
__fense

@jake100 Note that most of the people here have been saying exactly that for weeks now and you're been a part of the minority that's been arguing against it.

@jake100 What is "Dumb news stories that Joeyboy is going to repeat as fact to annoy people," Alex.

Ah the latest $100 MM quarterback.  Watch the exodus of good players  because of that.

Congrats Colin "Cap"ernick.

I wish Simms was #1 and Vick was #5, so that when Simms is cut, our QBs could be Oaktown's 3-5-7.

@bob Excellent. Look at Rex! He is wasting away.

@williamg1 Written by Kieran Darcy, yea it was something new & interesting not the same rehashed manufactured controversies.

@__fense I already regret showing Joey how to post tweets. What the hell was I thinking?

@Lloyd Jay Reife @jake100

Not necessarily.  They will lose some good players, but that is a lot of guaranteed money, that means his cap number will be low.

@jake100 Lol gotta take the positives wherever they come I guess, Still think there is no chance he makes the team.

@Brendan @__fense Big mistake. As if his text spam wasn't bad enough, now he can post links and pictures and just make the forums a spammy mess.

@Brendan @__fense I like it better than actually clicking on the links. I don't know what happened on this one, but we at least still got the text there.

@Lloyd Jay Reife @jake100 Is he even worth all that money? Just dumb, he can retire right after his contract is done, become an analyse somewhere, God knows I would.

__fense
__fense

@jdb4 @Lloyd Jay Reife @jake100 I don't think that's how it works. Guarantees count entirely towards the cap. Usually you give guarantees in exchange for the total price to be lower, but he's gettin 110 mil, which is a huge number for a 6 year deal. This is looking to me like it's a record high cap hit

williamg1
williamg1

@__fense @Brendan Joey is actually a marketing program Cimini uses. Obviously there's a glitch in the code.

Brendan
Brendan

@__fense I'm guessing he expanded it and then tried the copy thing.

@williamg1 Holy crap, he's like a modern version of an IRC bot!? Oh, that's perfect.

__fense
__fense

@a57se @__fense @jdb4 But do we know about his actual cap hit? Theoretically he can sign a minimum deal non-guaranteed every year, and then a "win the superbowl" incentive for 17.6 (or whatever, I don't know what his minimum would be) every year. It'd be a $110 mil deal with essentially no cap hit. Or he could have $18.333 Mil Guaranteed every year, and the 49ers would be on the hook for the full amount every year. It's obviously somewhere in the middle of those two extremes, but "Record Guarantees" implies that it's closer to the second option than the first.

I don't think we know enough about his deal to really say anything about it yet.

Brendan
Brendan

@__fense The tweets I'm seeing say "record setting guarantees." Not sure what that means, but it gave the impression it's a massive, guaranteed contract.

@Brendan @__fense

If you guys go to the link I provided, it breaks down the 'guarantees' for the top QB's in the league.I would assume 'record breaking Guarantees' would mean his surpass Rodgers $54 Million Guaranteed.

__fense
__fense

@jake100 @__fense @brendan Yep, it worked that time. I'm chalking it up to Livefyre being terrible.

But also that article, Jane McManus, and ESPN as a whole is terrible, and no one should be giving them page views.

__fense
__fense

@a57se @Brendan @__fense Guarantees isn't the only part of the cap hit, though. All we know is that isn't going to be impossible to cut him pretty much ever until his contract runs out. Hopefully he doesn't get hurt or anything.

Brendan
Brendan

@a57se Yeah, which would be insaaaaaane, to put it mildly.

Brendan
Brendan

@__fense It's not, but ultimately guarantees is how a contract is measured in the NFL world. If they give the most guarantees ever to a player in this league, and that player is Colin Kaepernick, you are doing many things wrong.

a57se
a57se

@Brendan @a57se

Just making him the 6th highest paid QB could be considered insane.....he looked awful early on last season.
